CAP (Consumer Assistance Program) Lead Legal Assistant

The Board of Professional Responsibility has an opening for a Lead Legal Assistant position in the Consumer Assistance Program (CAP).  This position is located in Brentwood.

Under the supervision of the Director of Consumer Assistance, is responsible for secretarial support and administrative assistance work of average difficulty.

Skills and Ability:  Good oral and written communication skills; knowledge of administrative principles, legal practices and terminology, and office equipment; ability to prioritize work according to deadlines; proficiency in computer and word processing skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to maintain confidences due to the highly confidential nature of the work of the Board.  Ability to handle a high volume, fast-paced caseload quickly and accurately.  Desire to help others.  Ability to deal with difficult clients politely and efficiently.

Education and/or Experience:  Graduation from an accredited high school and experience equivalent to three (3) years of increasingly responsible full-time secretarial or administrative work as a legal assistant or educational equivalent such as Paralegal Certification, Associate‚Äôs degree in Paralegal or Legal Assistant Studies, current Certified Professional Secretary designation, or other equal and relevant college hours or degree.

Candidates who are selected as finalists will be asked to complete several tasks to demonstrate competency and skill.

This position requires a criminal background check.  Therefore, you will be required to provide information about your criminal history in order to be considered for this position.
