Chief Technology Officer

The Administrative Office of the Courts, in Nashville, is seeking an experienced and qualified leader for the position of Chief Technology Officer. This position is responsible for leading the technology division for the entire statewide judicial branch. The position reports to the Director of the Administrative Office of the Courts and works closely with the TN Supreme Court.

The CTO is responsible for the tech support of a $170M entity, across all 95 counties, working with the other branches of government and supervising a tech division of over 30 staff.

     1. Oversee critical technological support of the Administrative Office of the Courts and its
         environs, the Supreme Court, and General Sessions, Chancery, and Circuit courts
         across the State of Tennessee.
     2. Serve as technology liaison between the Administrative Office of the Courts, and the
         State Supreme Court, the State Legislature, all other State Courts and Court Staff,
         and other internal and external departments at the Municipal, State and Federal
         levels, as needed.
     3. Provide strategic planning, supervision and guidance for court system technology
     4. Prepare or assist with preparation of Requests for Proposal and Requests for
         Qualifications for services, hardware and software for the AOC and the Courts.
     5. Serve on or staff various committees, task forces and boards, as needed.
     6. Provide technology consulting and support for other Supreme Court sanctioned Board
         and Commissions.
     7. Coordinates and is engaged in the strategic policy, substantive and initiatives of the

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a technology-related major-minor, business or public administration, mathematics, or closely related field and over 5 years’ experience in planning capacity and experience in analysis, design, and implementation of computer systems, experience in overseeing and managing computer hardware and software support, maintenance, and implementation staff; as well as new technologies which are available and could enhance the work of the court system. Must have excellent written and oral communications skills, and the ability to work with all level of staff and constituents.
