Programs Manager

The Administrative Office of the Courts, in Nashville, is seeking a dynamic self-motivated person for the Programs Manager position within the Court Services Division. This position works under the direction of the Court Services Director. This position consists of responsible professional work in program administration, planning, development, evaluation and professional legal work.  This position performs a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, staffing the Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission, providing legal assistance to the Commission and its committees, and administering the listing of Supreme Court Rule 31 mediators; managing several grants including but not limited to the Victim Offender Reconciliation Program and Parent Education and Mediation Fund state funded programs, the Access and Visitation Grant and miscellaneous grants; assists the Director of Court Services in policy development on various program areas as assigned including review of the legal implications of the same, conducting programs and planning and implementing educational programs as may be needed. The Programs Manager may serve as staff liaison to various committees, commissions, and task forces providing legal research and memorandums and opinions as needed. 


  • Must possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license.
  • Must be able to travel (to include overnight travel) as the position requires.
  • Ability to lift and transfer up to 30 pounds.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Must be organized and be able to prioritize work according to general deadline dates. 
  • Must have considerable experience in the use of personal computers for word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be comfortable fielding general emails, calls, and questions about the Rule 31 Mediator application, Rule 31 Mediator annual renewal, and ADRC Annual Workshop from current and prospective Rule 31 Mediators and support staff, judges and court staff, and attorneys.
  • Self-starter and able to engage and collaborate with subject matter experts as well as to be able to individually create engaging and effective programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate degree
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Tennessee
  • One year of experience in program planning or judicial administration.
