Nine Apply for 22nd Judicial District Circuit Court Opening

The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments will consider nine applicants when it meets April 10 in Columbia to select nominees for the impending circuit court vacancy in the 22nd Judicial District, which serves Giles, Lawrence, Maury, and Wayne counties.

The vacancy has been created by the announcement that the Honorable Jim T. Hamilton will retire effective June 1, 2015.  The applicants are:

The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments will interview the applicants on Friday, April 10 in the Tom Primm County Commission Room, located at 6 Public Square, Columbia. The meeting will include a public hearing starting at 9 a.m. CDT, during which members of the public may express their opinions about the applicants. The interview and public hearing will be open to the public.

The council is expected to make their selections immediately following the interviews and forward the names to Gov. Bill Haslam for his consideration.
