Haslam Appoints Sockwell Circuit Court Judge in 22nd Judicial District

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam today appointed Christopher V. Sockwell of Lawrenceburg as Circuit

22nd Judicial District includes Giles, Lawrence, Maury and Wayne counties.

Sockwell, 55, has practiced with Boston, Holt, Sockwell & Durham in Lawrenceburg since 1993. He has
also served as City Judge and City Attorney for Ethridge, Tennessee since 2001.

“I am pleased to appoint Christopher Sockwell to this position,” Haslam said. “His legal experience
and commitment to his community will serve the citizens of the 22nd judicial district well.”

Prior to beginning his law practice, Sockwell was a high school math teacher and baseball coach in
Nashville.

“I am humbled and honored by Governor Haslam’s confidence and appointment,” Sockwell said. “I look
forward to working with the wonderful trial judges, clerks, and lawyers of the 22nd Judicial
District to serve the people of this circuit.”

Sockwell earned his law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law after receiving a
bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb University. He is highly involved in his community, including
serving as President of Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club and on the Lawrenceburg Babe Ruth Baseball
Committee, Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and Kid’s Place: Child
Advocacy Center Board of Directors. He is a member of the Pulaski Street Church of Christ.
