Davidson County Chancery Court Launches Electronic Case Filing

Electronic case filing is now available in Davidson County Chancery Court. Attorneys started e-filing soon after the soft launch of the Court’s e-filing system on March 1, 2017. “On behalf of the Chancellors of the Twentieth Judicial District, we are excited to offer e-filing, and expect it to be a valuable resource,” said Chancery Court Clerk and Master Maria Salas.

Following successful implementation of the Tyler Technology Odyssey Case Manager™ solution, the Court implemented Odyssey eFileTN™, which allows users to open cases and file documents with the Davidson County Chancery Court from anywhere at any time via a user-friendly, secure website. “The integrated e-filing and case management systems provided by Tyler are time saving and cost efficient for our office and the legal community,” said Salas.

“We’re pleased about the successful go-live of eFileTN for Davidson County Chancery Court,” said Bret Dixon, president of Tyler’s Justice Group. “This implementation adds to successful Odyssey projects in 22 other states, including California, Georgia, Texas and Illinois. The Davidson County Chancery Court has been a good partner, and we are pleased to help them further enhance access to the justice system.”

E-filing is widely used in federal courts, but Davidson County is only the second county in Tennessee to implement e-filing in a state trial court. Nashville Bar Association President Nathan Ridley commended the e-filing implementation in Davidson County Chancery Court. “E-filing streamlines the case filing process, and provides benefits to both the filer and the court,” said Ridley.

Registration for e-filing may be completed at www.OdysseyeFileTN.com. The Clerk’s office recommends viewing one of the training videos or the on-line training webinar (approved for 1 hour of general CLE credit) before using the e-filing system. Transaction and credit card convenience fees apply to e-filing.
