NACC Red Book Training Series offered for Free
to Tennessee Parent and Child Attorneys and Judicial Officers
Red Book Training Core Dependency Competency Areas:
* Investigative interviewing of children
* Counseling legal clients who are children
* Practice of child welfare casework
* Child safety
* Representing parents
* Federal due process
* Educational goals for children in foster care
* Transition of youth from foster care
What:
The National Association of Counsel for Children (NACC) signature seven-week Red Book Training course covers core dependency practice competency areas and is designed to assist you in preparing for the Child Welfare Law Specialist (CWLS) examination. Over seven weekly webinars, participants will be guided through material drawn from Child Welfare Law and Practice.
When:
Training will be held via a live webinar on Thursday afternoons, September 8 - October 27, 2022 at 4 PM CT/5 PM ET with digital sessions available on demand to participants following each session. Most weeks, the webinar will be 1 hour long. However, sessions 2 and 7 will be 1.5 hours long in order to cover the material sufficiently.
*There will not be a session on September 22.
Who:
The training is being offered to Attorneys, Judicial Officers, Juvenile Court Staff and other individuals working in the child welfare system across Tennessee.
The program includes:
Electronic copy of the "Red Book": Child Welfare Law and Practice: Representing Children, Parents and
State Agencies in Abuse, Neglect and Dependency Cases, 3rd. Ed.
Participants will receive up to 8 general hours of TN CLE credit.
No cost to participate!
The training is being offered free of charge! Participation is sponsored by the
Court Improvement Program, Tennessee Administrative Office of the Courts.
