Chattanooga will host the Tennessee Association of Drug Court Professionals conference on Dec. 7-9 at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
"TN Drug Courts are staffed by dedicated professionals that work hard to help addicts recover their lives, their families, their hopes, and dreams. We return recovering addicts to society as productive, responsible citizens. The hi-lite of this year's Conference is an art exhibit featuring works by recovering addicts and staff members. Art plays an important role in recovery, and we are excited to showcase these talents at the convention center," said Kevin Batts, president of the association.
The keynote speaker is Supreme Court Justice Connie Clark, a staunch supporter of the Drug Court model. The new Commissioner of Mental Health will also speak at the opening. A Drug Court participant will create a piece of art on-stage while describing how art helps him overcome addiction. The art exhibit itself will be highlighted during a reception that night from 6-8 p.m. at the Convention Center.
