Davidson County Juvenile Court CLE: How to Effectively Litigate Custody Cases

Magistrate Michael O'Neil will cover how to effectively litigate custody cases in Juvenile Court. Participants will learn the difference between Title 36 and Title 37 cases, what to do when receiving these cases, how DCS involvement effects the case, and how the county effects the case. Topics to be discussed include jurisdiction versus venue, the best interest of the child versus best interest of the parent, things to consider before the preliminary hearing, and what to do is there is an IPA.
