This month, Shellis Hampton will tell us about the specialty court called the GRIP Court. She will explain the purpose of the court, why it was created and how it can help turn around our kids who seem to be heading in the wrong direction.
Davidson County Juvenile Court’s GRIP court was created by Kelly Gray and Lindsey Moreland to provide a probation program that worked for our kids that are in gangs or are committing more aggressive offenses in our community. It is a court that works to bring hope to the youth that may feel that our community has abandoned them. The goal is for those kids to grow and learn to be a contributing member of the larger community and to learn that there are many positive ways to find hope and belonging.
This course has been approved for 1.5 general CLE hours.
