The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments met in Chattanooga to hold a public hearing and conduct interviews of a second slate of applicants for the Criminal Court vacancy in the 11th Judicial District, which serves Hamilton County.
After interviewing the candidates and conducting a vote, the Council has submitted the following three as nominees to Gov. Bill Haslam for the vacancy:
The vacancy was created by the retirement of Judge Rebecca Stern June 1. The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments previously met on April 9 and considered seven applicants, three of whom were submitted to Gov. Bill Haslam for his consideration. Pursuant to an executive order signed last fall, the governor requested the Council submit a second panel of three nominees for his consideration. The governor may elect to choose from either of the two panels.
Completed applications of the nominees can be found by clicking on their names above.
