Judicial Nominating Commission Recommends Three Candidates for Knox County Vacancy

The Judicial Nominating Commission met in Knoxville today to interview the eight applicants for the judicial vacancy in the 6th Judicial District created by the retirement of Judge Richard Baumgartner.
After holding a public hearing and an interview for each applicant, the Judicial Nominating Commission has recommended the following three candidates to Governor Bill Haslam:

Charles Cheatwood Burks
Attorney
Justice, Noel & Burks

G. Scott Green
Attorney
Valliant, Harrison, Schwartz, & Green, P.A.

Steven Wayne Sword
Assistant District Attorney General
Knox County District Attorney General’s Office, 6th Judicial District

The governor may now appoint one of these candidates.
