The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) announced today that Jill G. Frost, Nashville attorney and former American Red Cross spokesperson, will serve as Director of Communications for the statewide court system beginning December 1, 2016. One of Frost’s primary responsibilities will be serving as a media spokesperson for the Tennessee Supreme Court and the AOC.
“We are thrilled to have Jill’s breadth and depth of communications experience as well as her experience with the Judiciary at a time when outreach to the public, lawyers and the media is absolutely crucial, “stated Deborah Taylor Tate, Director of the AOC. “Her seasoned expertise during disasters as well as her experience with the mobilization of volunteers will assist and support the Court’s ongoing commitment to Access to Justice Initiatives.”
Frost, a licensed attorney in Tennessee, has more than 10 years of experience serving in public relations and communications roles. She has worked with the American Red Cross in Nashville and the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation, a partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. In addition, she has experience as a reporter in both print and radio news, and is certified in crisis communications from the Institute for Crisis Communications, Louisville, Ky.
“I am truly honored to work with the Supreme Court of Tennessee, the AOC and to serve as a resource to all judges and courts of our great state,” said Frost. “It is my hope that my experience working with local, state and national news media will provide a meaningful and lasting impact on the state, the judicial branch and the people we serve.”
Frost’s diverse legal background includes working with the law firms of Spicer Rudstrom, PLLC in Nashville and Buerger, Moseley & Carson PLC in Franklin; as well as internships with Metro Nashville Department of Law, Judge Hamilton Gayden and the office of General Counsel to the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. Most recently, Frost served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Michael W. Binkley and Judge Joseph A. Woodruff, 21st Judicial District in Franklin.
Frost obtained her undergraduate degree in journalism and political science from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky. and her law degree from Belmont University College of Law. While at Belmont University College of Law, Frost excelled academically and in the Dean’s Cup appellate moot court competition.
A native of Kentucky, Frost has lived in Nashville for the past 15 years with her husband, Jonathan Frost, Director of Alumni Relations for the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management and their three-year-old daughter.
Frost’s predecessor, Michele Wojciechowski, was recently named the Director of Communications and Engagement of the Nashville School of Law.
