Members of the media are permitted, and encouraged, to attend public court proceedings in Tennessee. Cameras and recording devices may be used as well, as long as media members follow the guidelines set forth in Supreme Court Rule 30.
Please note that requests for for the use of cameras in the courtroom, must be submitted to the judge two days in advance of the proceeding. However, the judge has the ability to waive that requirement.
Please review Supreme Court Rule 30 for more information about rules surrounding media coverage in Tennessee courts.
