Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children

The Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) is a law and process designed to ensure that children who are placed across state lines are safe, healthy, and able to receive services and protections across jurisdictions. This training will provide an overview of the ICPC statutes and regulations, the ICPC process and important contacts in the Tennessee Department of Children's Services. Information provided in the session will help attendees understand the purpose and goals of the ICPC, identify when ICPC applies and when it does not, and examine strategies for overcoming the most commonly experienced challenges.
