Administrative Law Clerk Chambers of Senior Judge (Jackson, TN)

Senior Judge in Jackson, TN is seeking a qualified person for the position of Administrative Law Clerk. The duties include performing a variety of confidential, technical, and general clerical tasks and administrative work, conducting legal research, preparing memos, drafting orders and opinions, proofreading the judge’s orders and opinions, verifying citations, preparing correspondence, scheduling the Court’s docket  and assisting the judge in any other needed tasks.  

The successful applicant must also be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing; research complex legal problems or questions and apply legal principles; represent the court in a respectful manner; analyze, appraise and organize facts, evidence, legal documentation, and precedents in assigned cases; and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Experience: Must be a law school graduate and be licensed to practice law in Tennessee or be eligible to obtain a Tennessee law license.  Must also possess a valid Tennessee Driver’s License.

This position requires a criminal background check.  Therefore, you will be required to provide information about your criminal history in order to be considered for this position.
