Pilot Project to Meet Business Demands Completes First Year

Davidson County Chancellor Ellen Hobbs Lyle, Chief Justice Sharon Lee, Gov. Bill Haslam General Counsel Dwight Tarwater, and AOC Director Deborah Taylor Tate at the launch of the business project last year.

 

After completing the first year of a pilot project, the Business Docket in the Davidson County Chancery Court has accepted nearly 60 cases and has had a great reception in the business and legal communities.

The Tennessee Supreme Court established this docket to handle the complex litigation needs of existing and future businesses in Tennessee by providing expedited resolution of business cases by an experienced judge with expertise in handling complex commercial cases. Chancellor Ellen Hobbs Lyle of Davidson County Chancery Court, Part III, presides over the Business Docket.
