The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments is now accepting applications for a new circuit court judge in the 19th Judicial District – Montgomery and Robertson counties. The vacancy was created by the legislature this spring and signed by Gov. Bill Haslam May 18. The position is effective September 1, 2015.
Any interested applicant must be a licensed attorney who is at least 30 years of age, a resident of the state for five years, and a resident of the 19th Judicial District. Applicants must complete the designated application, which is available here and submit it to the Administrative Office of the Courts by noon CDT on Friday, June 12, 2015.
The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments will interview all qualified applicants in the district at a time to be announced. The meeting will include a public hearing, during which members of the public may express any objections to any applicant. The interview and public hearing will be open to the public.
