In the 15 years since the Drug Court (now called Recovery Court) in Rutherford County accepted its first three participants, hundreds of people have passed through it, relieving the strain on the jail, as well as offering more hopeful alternatives for the offenders.
In November, the county initiated a Veterans Court, based on the same purposes, under the guidance of Tray King, Veteran Court coordinator, and General Sessions Judge Ben Hall McFarlin, who is himself a veteran.
The two men worked together to answer e-mailed questions about Veterans Court and the impact it could have on the county.
