The state’s newest attorneys are appearing before the Tennessee Supreme Court this week – to be sworn in to the practice of law.
Candidates who were successful in the July bar examination are attending ceremonies this week in Knoxville, Nashville, Jackson, and Memphis to be formally admitted to the practice of law in Tennessee.
Nearly two-thirds of all exam takers passed the bar, and 544 are eligible to take the oath. Many are of those eligible are participating in one of the five ceremonies being held across the state, including two ceremonies held Tuesday in Nashville.
