The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) has received $200,000 in grant funding to provide assistance to people who come before the courts with limited English proficiency.
The AOC received the one-year grant from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Competitive Grant Program. The grant is intended to pay for the costs of interpreters for specific non-indigent parties - specifically those parties involved in cases as outlined in Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 13(1)(d)(1) and (2).
The grant period ends June 2012.
