IOLTA Grants Available for Organizations that Provide Civil Legal Services for the Indigent

The Tennessee Bar Foundation is now accepting IOLTA (Interest On Lawyers’ Trust Accounts) grant applications from organizations that provide civil legal services to the indigent or those that work to advance the administration of justice.

The IOLTA grants are made possible from the interest earned on the pooled trust checking accounts of participating lawyers. Since the Supreme Court created the IOLTA program in 1984, more than $16 million in grants have been awarded to various organizations.

The application deadline for the 2012 IOLTA grants is September 9, 2011. For more information and to submit an application, please visit the Tennessee Bar Foundation website.
