The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments will consider seven applicants when it meets June 17 in Memphis to select nominees for the Chancery Court vacancy in the 30th Judicial District, which serves Shelby County.
The vacancy was created by the death of the Honorable Oscar C. Carr, III.

The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments will interview the applicants on Wednesday, June 17 at the Memphis Hilton, 939 Ridge Lake Blvd., Memphis 38120. The meeting will include a public hearing starting at 9 a.m. CDT, during which members of the public may express their opinions about the applicants. The interview and public hearing will be open to the public.
The council is expected to make their selections immediately following the interviews and forward the names to Gov. Bill Haslam for his consideration.
